Equitable Contracts: The Basics

Most contracts contain the same basic language, but they can be intimidating or hard to comprehend. This workshop will help you understand the standard components of contracts.

In the first half of the workshop, the World Arts West team and legal expert Matt Dedon review common contract terminology like “force majeure,” “work for hire,” and “indemnification.”

In the second half of the workshop questions are answered by Matt Dedon and World Arts West team members about points to consider when entering contracts.

Videography For Success

A workshop designed for cultural artists in the dance community interested in using video documentation that takes you to the next level.

Join Major Julian (Parangal Dance Company) and Jason Ditzian (Narluga Arts) as they share marketing and grant writing experiences and tips to improve promotion, documentation, and writing for your art practice. Learn to promote creative work online and use storytelling to create and edit a compelling video sample for grant applications and more.

Major Julian trained in classical and contemporary music, performing with prestigious artists such as concert pianist Sally Christian and with the Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Prof. Timothy M. Smith. He has over a decade in the San Francisco bay area's filipino folk dance community focused on music and dance of the indigenous people of the Philippines. Currently, Major works with Parangal to support their Mission to discover, preserve, educate, and inspire as they travel the world.

Jason Ditzian is an internationally touring clarinetist and Executive Director of Narluga Arts, a grants management and consulting firm working with socially-engaged artists and organizations. Narluga Arts specializes in hybridized, complex, collaborative projects, working with an extraordinary cohort of multidisciplinary artists who believe art has the power to change the world.
