Impact
World Arts West is excited to announce that we’ve completed our first impact report about our expanded programming at World Arts West. The report details many of the great strides World Arts West has made in the last few years to transform itself into an impactful, artist centered, service organization.
Now World Arts West not only presents a beautiful annual festival; we also offer capacity building artist services, work on archiving and documentation, and advocate for visibility and resources for cultural artists.
Research
In 2023 World Arts West was one of eight organizations awarded a prestigious Wallace Foundation research grant, “meant to both document and advance the contributions that artists and arts organizations make to the communities of color they serve and celebrate.”
World Arts West conducted a community survey to document the needs of cultural dance organizations and will share the report findings and recommendations later this year.
World Arts West sent our Equity Research Survey to 118 organizations who have participated in our Annual Festival and who had current contact information. Based on the 97 qualified responses and three ensuing focus groups, we wrote our report and developed a directory of the respondents for further engagement.
The equity research report findings identify these key challenges for culturally specific dance organizations:
limited organizational infrastructure
devaluation of community-based cultural art forms
the need for safe, affordable spaces
This project allows World Arts West to make recommendations about policies and practices that affect our communities backed by data driven research, advocate for resources, strengthen our network, and build intersectional solidarity.

Feeling stuck in your health? You’re not alone.
1
Always stressed
Constant stress and anxiety can leave you feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope with daily life. Therapy sessions can help you develop effective coping strategies and reduce these feelings, allowing you to regain control and peace of mind.
2
Feeling low about life
Struggling with persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or lack of motivation can significantly impact your quality of life. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore these feelings and work towards improving your overall mental health.
3
Relationship troubles
Navigating conflicts, communication issues, or emotional disconnect in relationships can be challenging. Therapy can offer valuable tools and insights to improve relationship dynamics, enhance communication, and foster healthier connections.
