Ensambles Ballet Folklorico de San Francisco

Founded in 1992, this Bay Area theatrical body of dancers, from varying ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, is committed to the preservation of the richest artistic manifestations of tradition and culture in Mexico. Focusing on the community, especially the youth, Ensambles has always participated in projects directly involved with local organizations, as well as establishing their own Folklorico Youth Program. Among these organizations are World Arts West for the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival and People Like Me, Young Audiences of the Bay Area, Mission Education Center, Margaret Cruz Latina Breast Cancer Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, and "Pájaros de la Nieve" Festival in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.

Under the artistic direction of Zenon Barron, Ensambles has developed a stylized touch to enhance the traditional elements of the culture without sacrificing the folkloric value of this dance form. See the website for Ensambles, at a http://www.ensambles.com
